Bissell CrossWave Pet Pro Review

Check this out on Amazon: Here

In our house, the floors get filthy!  Mostly due to us having dirty paws and our family wearing shoes, etc.  In this case we are talking about the hard surfaced floors in our home.  Of course we have to get these floors clean again, so what are our options?  Backbreaking manual scrubbing? No way!  The many forms of mopping that just spread dirt around with the same dirty water?  No thanks!  Is there a better way?  YES!

Let us introduce you to the Bissell Crosswave Pet Pro.  This little thing is amazing!  In basic terms, its a hard floor scrubbing wetvac.  Why is it so amazing?  Keep reading.

First of all, there are a few (many) requirements that we thought a hard floor cleaner should have.

  • Actually clean the floor
  • never mix the clean water with the dirty water
  • vacuum well to assist the floor drying
  • be easy to use
  • be easy to clean up and get ready for next use
  • be pet friendly (we are dogs after all)

Now let us show you how the Bissell Crosswave Pet Pro does all of that and more!

The Crosswave looks small because it is.  At first we thought this would mean it wasn’t powerful or that we’d be changing  water all the time.  Nope.  It actually makes it easier to push than a regular vacuum and it has plenty of power to get the floors clean.  The clean water and dirty water have separate tanks as shown in the pics.  The clean water tank has measurement lines for the hot water and cleaning solution, so no need to measure anything out.  The dirty water tank has a built in strainer for debris and pet hair as well as a float to block suction and let you know its full.

Left: clean water tank     Right: dirty water tank

The Crosswave advertises up to 700 square feet on one tank.  Although we didn’t measure it out, this seemed accurate.  The lid on the water tank did not leak at all, as it is flipped upside down and inserted into the top of the machine.  The dirty water tank pops in and out of the bottom, and is easily dumped into a sink or toilet.

We mainly used the Crosswave on tile floors, but it will work on all sealed hard surfaced floors.  Plus it has an area rug setting to clean your small rugs or mats.

Using the Crosswave is easy.  The buttons in the pic above turn it on/off and tilting it back activates the brush roller.  It is always suctioning while its on and the handle has a trigger to spray cleaning solution.  The cleaning solution is sprayed internally and never sprays out onto anything you don’t want to get wet.  The Crosswave even has an LED light array near the brush roller that lights up when you depress the trigger to let you know when your spraying.  Other than a quick fill of the clean water and a quick pour out of the dirty tank, using the Crosswave took no longer than a regular vacuum and the floor dried quicker than when using a mop.  Once you are done, you put the Crosswave in the included storage/cleaning tray.  Use the included cup to cycle  some hot water through the system.  Clean up was super easy as well, just pop everything off and give it a rinse in the sink and that’s it!

Overall, we think the Bissell Crosswave Pet Pro is a great hard floor cleaner.  It comes with everything you need including two mini bottles of pet solution and a replacement brush head.  Additional Solution is available, it goes a long way and is inexpensive.  We sure like this product and we hope you do too!
